Peter Lerangis at Local BN on March 20

Peter Lerangis, one of the authors of the YA series The 39 Clues,  will be at a book signing in Old Orchard at the Barnes and Noble store on March 20 at 7 PM. All eleven books in the series have been written by a few different authors and the novels contain game cards and clues. The Cahills are pitted against other branches of the Cahill family and the group who finds the clues first will have the most power! And don’t forget the Vespers who are threatening all humans!

Book Signing Etiquette

Is it gauche to ask an author to sign an old book, instead of purchasing a new one at the signing? I’m not sure where I come down on this, because it seems the writer should be thrilled to see a loyal reader. However, the purpose of a public appearance is also to sell new books, a tiring and tedious process, I’m certain. What do you think about this? Leave the old books at home? See the many responses to this post in Publisher’s Weekly. Shira S.

Henrietta Lacks was the terminal cancer patient whose cells, preserved without her knowledge or consent, have formed the basis for much of  the last sixty years of  medical research.    Mary H., Reader’s Services
